Robot DJI RoboMaster S1
RoboMaster S1 is a programmable robot with an educational purpose, invented by DJI and inspired by the RoboMaster programming competition!
The robot is built with high-quality components and programmable AI modules via Scratch and Python. It is delivered as a kit and can be assembled in a few hours using the video tutorials provided by DJI in the free RoboMaster mobile and PC application (in French on Android and iOS).
Equipped with a two-axis gimbal camera, RoboMaster S1 is formidable in Arena mode, where you can battle other RoboMaster S1 units using its Blaster cannon, which can fire LED beams or pellets to immobilize its opponent!
Intelligent and innovative, the DJI robot can recognize applause, certain gestures and even people, and adopt a reaction programmed by you in its code!
Inspired by an international robotics competition
RoboMaster S1 is inspired by the type of robots seen at the RoboMaster competition powered by DJI, which has taken place every year since 2015 in Shenzhen, China. The RoboMaster event brings together thousands of participants from around the world with a single goal: to create and program the most advanced robot to compete against all other participants. Student engineers in training combine their knowledge of programming and artificial intelligence in the service of innovation, and can win the prize for best robot and significant sums of money for these budding technology enthusiasts!
DJI's goal behind the RoboMaster S1 is to offer a product accessible to everyone (even younger users), allowing them to experiment with programming and compete against each other in arenas, drawing inspiration from their favorite video games!
A robot to assemble yourself and customize
RoboMaster was designed to encourage children (and adults) to build their robot with their own hands and to progressively learn how to program it. It is delivered entirely as a kit, which you will need to assemble yourself. No need to worry, DJI has put together a multitude of video tutorials to help with assembly (which should take a few hours).
Once your robot is assembled, you can start customizing it. You will be able to create small programs that let you make your RoboMaster S1 move and react the way you imagined. In order to make programming accessible to as many people as possible (beginners and advanced users alike), DJI offers two programming languages: Scratch and Python. Scratch is the platform best suited to younger users; it is already used in some preschools and elementary schools to teach children the basic principles of programming. It offers a fun, simple interface for understanding the fundamentals of programming. For more experienced users, you will also have the option to code in Python. This is made possible via the RoboMaster mobile and PC application and its RoboMaster Lab interface.

High-tech in the service of robotics
RoboMaster S1 relies on quality components. It features a main controller that acts as the robot's brain, a camera mounted on a two-axis gimbal to control the drone from your smartphone, as well as omnidirectional Mecanum wheels. These Mecanum wheels allow 360° control of the RoboMaster S1; they draw on robotics and science fiction to allow movement in any direction. There is also a Blaster cannon that is particularly useful in Arena mode.
Each component is programmable, and you have access to six AI (Artificial Intelligence) modules that you can customize to dazzle your opponents during a race!
Fun artificial intelligence for everyone
Natively, RoboMaster S1 has extremely powerful recognition modules that let it track subjects and adopt behaviors defined accordingly. RoboMaster S1 can recognize applause, certain body gestures, as well as other RoboMaster S1 units, lines drawn on the ground, and markers (included with the base kit).
It helps users grasp and understand certain basic principles of physics, mathematics, and science in general.

Face your opponents in Arena mode
The cannon placed on top of the robot allows you to shoot at your opponents (other RoboMaster S1 units). In Arena mode, you have access to different game modes similar to laser tag: aim at your opponent's sensors using the infrared sensor and make them lose life points! It is also possible to load gel beads into the tank and shoot at other participants.
Launch your RoboMaster S1 into a frantic race (up to 3.5 meters/second) and win first prize while destabilizing your opponents: hack their AI in real time and block their field of view to make them lose control!
RoboMaster App for PC, iOS, and Android
Pilot and program your RoboMaster S1 from the same interface, available on both mobile and PC. The RoboMaster App includes low-latency live video feedback and the ability to trigger your attacks from your smartphone. On PC, the RoboMaster App interfaces directly with Scratch or a Python code editor.
In RoboMaster Lab, define the redundancy of your actions and build your code step by step!
